Job Description – Head Coach - Morning Masters/Club Classes
Gentle Giant Rowing Club on the Mystic River in Somerville, MA is looking for a Head Coach for our morning practice sessions. The group for this session is made up of masters and open rowers of all ages. You’ll coach them on proper technique and encourage them to sign up for the races that GGRC attends during the season. The Head Coach will plan practices for both Sculling and Sweep rowers and communicate those plans to assistant coaches.
Qualifications Include:
•Rowing coaching experience.
•Understanding of USRowing rules and regulations.
•Demonstrated organizational and motivational skills.
•Demonstrated skills in program development.
•Demonstrated ability to work with rowers, staff, and board of directors.
Responsibilities:
•Comply with all Gentle Giant procedures and policies.
•Coordinate all practice sessions and training programs - setting lineups in advance of practice.
•Supervision of athletes.
•Promote positive attitude.
•Maintain responsible use of GGRC Equipment and Facility.
•Ability to drive coaching launches – both “tiller/flat bottom/v-hull” with outboard motors and “Still Water” launches – we can train if needed.

Terms of employment:
•Class Schedule – April 3rd – October 20th – Mon, Wed, Fri – 5:30am-7am.
•Salary - $130 per practice
